Top 5 Blogs for Productivity
Yes friends, the first Monday in September is coming up once again, which means that aside from officially saying farewell to summer, we're also commemorating the economic and social achievements of workers (aka: Labor Day). Such achievements, of course can be attributed greatly to productivity-that is, when we use our valuable time and resources to produce something worthwhile. And let's face it, all of us can definitely use more worthwhile things in this world, which is why I'm very grateful to these five websites that are dedicated to making our days a whole lot more fruitful. Check out my top five websites that can boost productivity: 1. Lifehacker - As its name suggests, Lifehacker publishes daily tips and "hacks" to make our lives easier. A lot of Lifehacker's content is related to tech stuff: handy apps for your phone, useful plugins for your browser, new websites, and more. But don't put it in the "tech" shelf just yet. A significant chunk of Lifehacker is dedicated to "Macgyver" tips ranging from opening an unopenable jar, wrapping your headphones with a binder clip, using mayonnaise to fix wood cracks, and more. So if you're having a do-it-yourself dilemma, try swinging by Lifehacker and you're bound to pick up a solution. 2. Zen Habits - Don't let the word "zen" fool you. This blog isn't just for yogis or those looking to meditate. Zen Habits is all about developing simple practices in the midst of a sometimes chaotic and cluttered way of life. We live in such a fast-paced world, where we're practically forced to multitask and fit into different shoes and hats all at once. Zen Habits reminds us to slow down, breathe, and take it one thing at a time. Named as one of the best blogs of 2010 by TIME magazine, this blog provides a lot of productivity tips to help us live more efficient and meaningful lives. 3. Pick the Brain - Pick the Brain takes a more general strategy in terms of self-improvement. While the website does offer occasional tips and tactics for productivity, most of Pick the Brain's content are broad and easily relatable. Topics such as building a wonderful life, understanding one's intelligence, and committing to success, are just some of the things that you will encounter in this great blog. Simply put, Pick the Brain is "a website dedicated to self improvement with a focus on personal productivity, motivation, and self education." 4. Unclutterer - Are you a pack rat? Does your room look like a tornado just blew past it? Then this website is for you. Its name is pretty straight-forward; Unclutterer aims to help you become more organized. "A place for everything, and everything in its place" is the website's mantra. From fixing your room, to organizing events, to untangling cable wires, this blog has something for everyone; moms, kids, college students, you name it. Unclutterer aims to conquer physical messiness, and helps clear things up mentally and emotionally in the process. 5. The Positivity Blog - It's hard to be productive when you're all negative and down in the dumps. The Positivity Blog aims to bring a little more sunshine in your life by providing motivational and inspiring articles. It also discusses hindrances to happiness-and how you can overcome them. Whether your goal is to stop procrastinating, or to get into shape, or to simply be more happy, then I urge you to check The Positivity Blog out.
