About Us Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in Stamford, Connecticut, provides personalized dermatology care in a small practice setting. Led by board-certified dermatologist Samuel L. Gettler, MD, the medical and cosmetic dermatology practice provides care for all ages, including children, teens, and adults. Dr. Gettler specializes in diagnosing and treating many common skin conditions, including acne, eczema, and psoriasis. He also provides pediatric dermatology, providing care for a wide range of skin issues that affect children, such as atopic dermatitis and warts. Additionally, Dr. Gettler has expertise in treating all types of hair loss, including alopecia areata, which causes a sudden and dramatic loss of hair. Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology also offers Botox® injections, fillers, acid peels, and sclerotherapy for visible veins. A Connecticut native, Dr. Gettler graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding before earning his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He returned to his home state for medical school, earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. Dr. Gettler completed his dermatology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Gettler opened Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in 2006 to provide dermatology services to the greater Stamford community, including Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, and beyond. Dr. Gettler resides in Wilton, Connecticut, with his wife and three children. At Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology, all patients are seen and cared for by Dr. Gettler.
