Interior Build

The 2021 Acura TLX interior has a vibrant design that underlines its sporty nature. The 2021 Acura TLX specs include a noticeable rotary drive-mode selector in the middle of the dashboard and beautiful analog gauges. The 2021 Acura TLX specs also have premium cabin materials such as real aluminum and open-pore wood. Overall, the build quality of the vehicle is very good.

Utility

The 2021 Acura TLX starts at a great price point. It is lower than nearly every opponent in this segment. One of the most well-equipped trims with an all-wheel drive is priced thousands of dollars less than rivals with similar features. The car gives a robust value statement. This is more so when you look at the 2021 Acura TLX specs and build quality. The brand provides a bumper-to-bumper warranty of four years as usual for this class. But the powertrain warranty of six years is more than what rivals offer. But unlike competitors, the company does not give complimentary maintenance.

Technological Changes

There are some issues with the interface of the touchpad. The integrated navigation system has sharp maps and is user-friendly. But the results from the point-of-interest search in the navigation system were a little erratic in our tests. There is also little directional info. So, there is no way of finding out if the nearest coffee shop you wanted to find is ahead of you or left behind. It is recommended to upgrade to the Advance trim or the A-Spec for the ELS audio system. It is that incredible. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are present by default but do not have wireless capability, which some rivals offer. There are also no USB ports in the rear, which is a rarity in a premium vehicle. It is good that several of the advanced driving systems are present by default. They do good work of simulating natural driving. There are a few mistakes. The adaptive cruise control does not react swiftly when the car ahead moves out of the lane.

Driving Experience

The TLX A-Spec has a turbocharged engine and an all-wheel drive. The car went 60 miles per hour in six and a half seconds. This is a little slower than rivals with similar engines. As a positive, the all-wheel-drive leads to more controlled and agile body motions when maneuvering tight runs. The steering does not have communication. But change the drive mode selector to Sport, and the car gets some heft. This feels more suited to sprints. The transmission is a big improvement over the previous generation. But it is still not perfect. It shifts early under a little throttle and is lazy in the comfort and normal drive modes. But it keeps the turbo boost in store when you need quick acceleration in sport mode.

Comfort Factor

The vehicle makes for the absence of performance with a comfy driving experience. The front seats are padded very well, and the rear seats are angled for relaxed seating. But the front seats are not very adjustable. The side bolsters do not give a lot of aid for performance driving. The car gets a good balance between composure and suppleness over a lot of road surfaces. But the road bumps can still give noticeable vibrancy to the interior. The noise is also controlled. The 2021 Acura TLX is relatively silent overall. But the testing shows that the car is a little louder than its rivals on the inside. The climate control system is also simple to use. The ventilated and heated front seats can be set to an auto mode that controls the amount of cooling or heating based on the interior and exterior temperatures.

Conclusion

The 2021 Acura TLX is a significant improvement over previous models in many ways. The powerful engine and the automatic transmission are better and react more naturally to inputs. The interior is also posher. But the vehicle takes some backward steps as well. The engine is less fuel-efficient and is slower than comparable engines in opponents in the midsize luxury sedan segment. But the top problem is the new touchpad, which is challenging to use.
